Father's Day 2013

I'm very blessed to be married to the World's Best Dad.  I try to make Father's Day special for him each year.  We were fortunate to have my in-laws come visit for Father's Day this year.  But, since I was a month shy of my due date I kept it super, super simple.

I made photo strip bookmarks for our fathers.

For my husband I printed this little fill in the blank book from Eighten25 and had the kids fill in the pages.  I wanted to add a few pages of my own and they were kind enough to email me which fonts they used so I added a few extras as well.  I love the answers and drawings the kids came up with.

For dinner we grilled burgers and I bought a case of Dad's assorted sodas from World Market

We had no table décor, nothing fancy but we enjoyed a yummy dinner with family and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Later in the evening we roasted s'mores in the fire pit.  I bought a variety of yummy chocolates to put on them.  We liked them all but the Ghirardelli Mint.  It was too strong for a s'more.  My fav is a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup S'more.  Yum!

Father's Day Gifts: Photo Booth Bookmark

Each year for Father's Day and Mother's Day we try to make a little something creative for the Grandpas.  Last year we made cutout photo bookmarks.  This year I decided to do something similar.

I took several photos of the kids close up on the porch.

Then I printed the photos b&w in a strip, laminated them and added a ribbon.  Easy, quick "photo booth" bookmarks.  I made one for my husband and myself as well.

Photo Bookmarks

For Mother's Day and Father's Day this year I created bookmarks of my kids to send to our parents.  I found the idea over at Creative Family Moments

I followed her tutorial pretty close and ended up with some pretty cute bookmarks.  We sent the one of my daughter to our moms and the one of my son to our dads.

I followed the tutorial from her site.  Here's the link to the tutorial.

I took photos of my kids outside with their hands up in the air.  I printed them 5 x 7 sized to get a good sized bookmark.

Here are the finished bookmarks.  I liked them so much I even made a couple for myself.

Personalized Note Pad

For Father's Day this year I ordered a few blank note pad blocks. My son colored the sides of one for his dad to take to work. The possibilities for a blank note pad are endless...coloring, stamping, you name it. Since he's three I just told him not to leave any white showing.
Then he colored some "wrapping paper" i.e. packing paper to wrap it up in.

He used these Crayola True To Life markers I found on the clearance rack a few months ago for $0.75. They are tri-tip markers and have three colors on each one. Looking back, I should have bought several more packages at that price. They are fun if you haven't tried them out yet.

Photo Cube

I made this photo cube for my husband for Father's Day this year. I cut out a 3 1/2 inch square block. My two year old painted it black for me. I printed pictures of the kiddos in black & white and then I mod podged them on.

Suit Card

Here's a card I've made several times over the last few years. I've used it for missionary farewells and for Father's Day. You could also use it as a congrats on a new job for a guy. I like to pop up the collar with glue dots and sew on a real button.

Father's Day

I made a little accordion card thing for Bryan for Father's Day. I just used 4 pieces of chip board, a few rub ons and some black tape. The hardest part was trying to pick just eight pictures.
