2 Two

My niece turned two this week so I made her this tutu for her birthday. I've seen these all over the net and thought I'd take a stab at it. It was very easy and very quick. I just stitched together a piece of elastic then looped on three colors of tulle. I've seen it tied on as well but this didn't look as bulky. If you make one, measure your child's waist and deduct a good inch or two as it will stretch as you tie on the tulle. Instead of buying yardage and cutting it into strips, I bought the tulle "ribbon" on the spools that is 6" wide. It was perfect. Here it is on my model (my son) and on her at the party. She put it on over her clothes and wore it the rest of the party. She knew exactly what to do and danced and twirled around. Such a girl!

Here's a "2 Two" birthday card I made to go along with it. (Stole that idea from my friend, Natalee, who put "2 Two" on a leotard on her daughter's second birthday and then put her in a tutu.) I'm sure I'll do that in a couple of years myself!

  3. I gifted this type of creativity to my sister 's daughter. It was in rainbow colour, she likes it very much and also order to make in different color as per her choice. She is only two year old.
